Integrating Limerick
The Limerick City and County Integration Working Group (IWG) was established in 2007 to bring together bodies who were working with migrants to share information and strategies since many issues faced by migrants were not legislated for or clearly laid out in policy.
This collaboration produced Integrating Limerick: Limerick City & County Integration Plan 2010-2012, a framework for integration in the region. The priority aims of the 2010-2012 plan are to enhance the participation of all communities in the social and cultural life of Limerick City and County, to improve representation of minority communities in local governance and representative groups, and to provide equal opportunities for all by improving access to rights and services.
The plan identified actions to improve existing integration measures and develop a more coordinated approach to service provision. Progress reports for each year of the plan detail specific, measurable outcomes that have been achieved to date in implementing the three year plan.
