Integration & Cultural Work

1. Support the integration process in The Limerick area and promote Inter-culturalism:

This role entails organising events to celebrate the cultural and ethnic diversity of Limerick and to make inter-culturalism a mainstream reality in the cultural and social scene of Limerick.The purpose of these events is to create a friendly atmosphere where all communities in Limerick can positively interact and learn from and contribute to the experience of living in a diverse Limerick.The Integration and Intercultural Officer of Doras Luimnií is interested to hear from talented individuals and community groups who are interested in developing the Intercultural scene in Limerick.For further details on Doras intercultural events please, visit the events page.

2. Train and support mainstream providers to initiate changes in the way that they provide services to migrants, asylum seekers and refugees:

The project will develop and deliver an Inter-cultural Awareness and Education programme to a wide range of service providers in the Limerick area to enhance inter-cultural sensitivity that will ultimately lead to improved service provision for new communities.It is envisaged that the training will equip service providers with knowledge, understanding and motivation.
